These are the times in the street dance of locking history that I am talking about when I talk about the purpose and message of street dance I saw and experienced this message of justice and equality ever day during the civil rights era and at the turn of the 1960s decade where it was expose along with the message on the TV dance show “ Soul Train” 


That teaching was rejected by those who only wanted to see the dance as entertainment , which would give them the freedom to bypass the message. The same took place within the evolution of the TV dance show “soul train” itself as the social/ political message in social party of changed to one of pure entertainment 
That is no surprise as integration gave access by an elite class who had both the money and the mass media connection to purchase credibility. The era of origin saw promoters baring promises of wealth and fame come into previous segregated black communities quietly recording and reteaching the dance performances without the culture
